We reflected the other day on how important it can be to notice whatever is arising in the present moment, while staying gentle with yourself during the noticing. Sometimes it means taking a break and staying kind with yourself even during times of disappointment. Things happen unexpectedly and, despite best intentions, sometimes it isn’t realistic to spend the time with your horse that day. It could be due to a scheduling issue, change of weather, an injury acting up, fatigue or any number of things. It could even be because you are on vacation:) Wanting the best for your horse does not mean that you can’t take the time required for yourself. It is okay to take a break sometimes, whether it feels imposed by external circumstances or intentional. Remember that;
There is real strength in being compassionate. It takes courage to forgive yourself and your horses, and to stay kind even during times of disappointment.
